Shiny balls in Photoshop

Hi...

How do you turn a flat circle of colour into something that looks 3D and shiny like a marbel like the balls in the following logo example...

I've been playing around like gradients and lighting effects and its not easy for someone not that familiar
with photoshop.

Going back to the original question you can create a reaonable "ball" effect fairly easily by:

Use the elliptical select tool to draw the circle.

Press +Del to fill it in with the current foregound colour.

Go to menu Effects->Render->Lighting

Select "Omni" light

You can then move the light about and play with the parameters till you get the look you want.

Simple.
Should have been ALT+DEL to fill with foreground.
