We have recently had the computer repaired and they have altered the settings somewhere so that it now Dials and connects to the Internet as soon as the machine is turned on. It used to only Dial when we wanted to go on to the Net. So, the q. is how do I alter it back to that system. We are on Dialup and Vista by the way. Info for dummies please!

You could try this.

In Control Panel>Internet Options>Internet Properties>Connections Tab>Tick "Never dial a connection. This procedure makes all connections manual.

You can then connect by right clicking on the monitor icon by the clock and following the prompts when you want to go online.

Ta. Already did this, but originally when we Clicked on say IE or Firefox a Connection box appeared which we used to connect. Now we have to go through more screens to do it.
Will have to live with it. Thanks again.
