I have made a large number of comments in a Word document, but I want to change the name/initials next to them. I've changed the initials in user information, which works for new comments. Is there any way to change the name beside the comments I've already made?

It seems to be some position where you can apply so if that's what we all are in need for https://www.nerdywriters.co.uk/ then this link will most probably work for you. Just see that and let us know more so we can mention it to the rest of the class in need of some stuff.
