Excel, percentages, help!

For a simple explanation, I have a list of data in column A. This consists of letters A,B,C,D,E. There are 25 entries. What I would like to do is calculate the percetage of their occurance in a totals box.

Big problem now, if some of the data reads as 'N/A', am I able to have a formula that discounts this data from the percentages? Problem I have is if this data then gets changed back from 'N/A' to 'A', the percentage needs to reflect this? The date being entered is from a drop down...A,B,C,D,E and N/A. Only those with A-E need apply, NOT N/A. Confused?! Me too!
