Old hard drive

I have an western digital 80gb hard drive that used to be in my old computer which has now died, however I want to get the old family photos etc off of it and transfer them to my new laptop. What do I need and how do I do this?

if from desktop it's a 3.5" drive
laptop = 2.5" drive
you need something on these lines

you need an ide enclosure
