PC speaker help please

i have just (quite literally) blown my computer speakers up by experimenting with the volume control...stupid, but there you go...they're knackered. The system was a Creative I-Trigue 3400 2.1 multimedia system which I bought a few years ago. I now need a replacement system and wondered if anyone had any suggestions.

Speakers are a very subjective thing, a set I think sounds good for what I listen to might not be suitable for you, so I would go into PC world, take a MP3 player or walkman with you and they have loads of speaker systems on display, try a few and see what you like the sound of
