Samsung Netbook Battery

I have a Samsung Netbook (10 inch screen) which I recently loaned to a friend. The battery is now completely dead because I think the system was left plugged into the mains 24 hours a day, and this in turn drained the battery.

Is there any way to recharge the battery or do I have to buy a new one? I have heard that resetting the bios might work?

I think you have to buy a new battery.
