There has been an upsurge in the advertising for the new Tablets which all claim to connect to to the Internet on the move. Has something changed in the last 3 months because I tried out several laptops , net books and Dongles and they were pretty useless, difficult to connect and very very slow to download, when they did.

"pretty useless, difficult to connect and very very slow to download".
Well now you can add "cr@p for typing " to the list
I have Archos 7 tablet internet. I take it everywhere with me. It picks up and accesses Internet via its wi-fi capability (such free wi-fi hotspots) very quickly. It is very great little table Intenet media player. I love it.

The trouble is, unless I've got it wrong , that only applies to hot spots. If you are anywhere else it doesn't work or only badly. I've tried them over a large area in South Bucks and they are useless. My Blackberry connects to the internet OK but none of the net books.
