Does anyone know of a program (that actually works) for formatting SD cards that have been password protected by Nokia phones.

I've placed a password on my 1GB SD card and I can't remember the password, So i'm trying to format it but it won't let me - just throw your the error 'The disk in drive M cannot be formatted'.

Any help would be great, thanks.

however i did find this along with manuals " that may help " if the program itself doesnt.

http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/

never used it so cannot promise on its performance however the manuals may help .

Had a look....

the only way to do it is install a file manager on the phone (one of the below should work, depends on what phone)

http://www.smartphone...n-for-s60-product.php
http://www.getjar.com...le/5322/fileexplorer/
http://download12.get...037/MiniCommander.jar

Then use the file manger to look on the card for /system/mmcstore

rename the file to mmcstore.txt and then bluetooth it to another phone or computer, open the file on the other phone or computer and the password will be shown. you can then unlock the card so it can be formatted.

I've already spent a while on them sites, the phone is a dinosaur, not even a smartphone. I've given up with it - it's a waste of time for a card that only cost about £2, probably b0rked anyways. Thanks for looking chuck, I appreciate it :)
