Hi folks

I have a tree of folders, each folder containing a set of 36 scanned film images

I'd like to copy the contents of ALL these folders to a SINGLE folder - is this possible, and how would I do it (without having to do them one by one)?

I've looked at the options for COPY and XCOPY and nothing seems to fit the bill

Thanks

I don't think you can but using a dual-panel file explorer would make it easier e.g. FileCommander http://www.freecommander.com/
Why install FileCommander when you can just open Windows Explorer twice.

Open Windows explorer on the OLD folder, then open Windows Explorer again on the NEW folder that you have created to hold all these images.

Then open the first folder of images, then "select all", then use Cut / Paste to get them from the old folder to the new folder.

You will have to do each of the 36 folders one at a time, but not individual files.

because it's not Windows Explorer
Make a new folder on desktop called ****. Open one of the folders that contain your images and click 'folders' on top. That opens a mini explorer directory on the left of the page. Select the place that holds the wanted folders and you'll see them on the right. Just click each one you want holding the Ctrl key and when all done press copy and click on your **** folder, paste in there.
In explorer, right click on the directory at the top of the tree and select Search.
Don't put any search criteria in, just hit the Search button.
In the search results, highlight the files but not the directories.
From the edit menu, select "Copy to Folder".
Type in the name of the destination folder.
Job done.
