Windows Vista Problems.
Since I bought my new PC 6 months ago with Windows Vista installed, I have had so many problems unlike I had with W-XP.
I was told today by one of PC Worlds staff that Vista are no longer going to give updates and gradually get rid of it as they have had to many complaints and going to concentrate on Windows 7.
I don't see why I should have to buy W/7 for about £85 because of their cock-up, anybody had the same problems?

relatively new to Vista too.....
Just moved from XP as well so I sympathise with your teething problems (probably the same I went through).
I understand MS has extended support for XP for a few more years, so if they curtail support for Vista that would be an admission that Vista is cr@p? don't see that happening.
Seems obvious sales staff want you to buy 7, but you're right in sticking with what you've got for now........unless you're made of money.
Someone with real knowledge will be along shortly to correct me and put you right.

> Windows Vista will be supported by Microsoft for many years to come.
Mainstream (i.e. you and me) support for all editions of Windows Vista will end in just over two years on 10th April 2012:

Why? They generally support the current version, and one previous version, of everything, and that includes operating systems.
I can assure you absolutely categorically that mainstream support will definitely not be extended beyond the published date:
