Feedback for all you kind folks.

Safe Mode...as suggested...all went well until the final step..."Windows XP or Equivalent" and on entering, it reverted back to the black screen with the same green flashing message.

windows is corrupt, you need to reinstall, causes of corruption could be hard drive faulty or ram, occasionally power supply.

whatever you do you need to reinstall windows again, if it happens again you need to get someone to have a look at it for the above problems..
