How to keep location when saving a file or picture

Hi, I'm trying to sort out all my pictures of which there are 1000's.
When I save a folder or picture in Windows it goes back to the my documents menu every time so I have to trawl through all the folders and find the one I want to save it to.
Is there a way to set it to go back to the last folder I used so I can just click to save it each time rather than having to find the folder I want?
I'm using Windows 7.

An update to my earlier question, not sure if this is relevant but I was just saving some pictures from facebook into my documents and from there it does automatically save to the last location which is what I am wanting to do in my documents
Use Irfanview to view your pictures. Use File>Move or File>Copy or File>Save As to put your pictures where you want them. (Or, better, use the shortcuts F7, F8 & S, respectively, to perform those tasks). You'll find that you're offered the last used location every time:
