Hi all
I have this blue Moon Icon on my F4 button on my laptop. i used it earlier to see what it was, (Fn button + F4) the screen then went blank (blackscreen) as though the monitor was turned off. I couldnt get it back on. i tried every Fn icons, even the moon icon but no joy, so with no choice i had to turn the the laptop off without shutting it down the sensible way. does anyone know what its for and what i can do put the screen bk on without having to shutting it down by holdng the off button?

which means that it shuts down everything and just keeps the laptop running with the bare minimum to remember what it was doing when you hit the button (pretty much just the RAM). The idea being that you can use sleep as an alternitive to switching off totally and it will "wake up" quicker than a full boot up from being switched of totally.
just pressing the power button and waiting 30sec or so should restore it back to exactly as it was when you put it to sleep
