At present I have a PC desktop, but would like to change to a laptop enabling me to sit using it in comfort rather than going to a different room. (My partner hates the things in the lounge) I am not very clued up on these things and wonder if someone can tell me how I access the internet if I buy one. I am with Talk Talk which suits my needs not being an extensive user and the man in the shop said I would have to contact them and get something from them. I really hope not, as although they are very polte I can never understand what they are talking about due to the accent and spend my time saying "sorry, could you repeat that please?" Really hope someone can help, thank you.

Is your current pc connected directly to the phoneline or is it done via a wireless router. If it is the latter then the set up is straight forward. If it is directly connected via a cable then for the laptop you may consider connecting wirelessly which is easy to do if you can follow step by step instructions
your desktop computer may not support a wireless connection, but a new laptop will. you need to find out if your router/modem can be used for a wireless connection.
