Webcam problems

On my Compaq laptop, the Webcam has suddenly stopped working. When I start it (YouCam) it says "Cannot connect to this video device (USB camera) Please select another capture device via Settings or close any application that may be using this video device and restart YouCam"

No under settings there is only USB Camera to select so I get nowhere! ANy ideas anyone? Many thanks

Have you tried firstly just unplugging the webcam and plugging it in again (maybe try a different port) if that doesn't work reinstall the drivers (preferably the latest version downloaded from the webcam manufacturers website)

Thanks Chuck I shold have said it's a laptop with a built-in camera. Will try reloading driver as you suggest
