Tried to install this program but got an error code, 0X80070643 what is it and how can I get rid of it.

check your computer has all the latest updates installed before installing MSE...

If that doesn't work than a hint as to what you are trying to install it on might help people answer you.

I always get an error code when I try and install this (on windows 7), so I'll be interested in any answers too.

Seems there is an mse install log created when you do the install so look in there. Link above shows you how.

I,m using IBM laptop with XP installed

Download and install the Windows Cleanup Tool from the Microsoft web site and you can remove any Microsoft programs with it
