Can anyone tell me how I can tell which outlet on my PC is running USB2 please?
I only bought the computer this year and am running Windows 7. Sometimes, when I plug something into a USB port on the front of the computer I get the messege that says something like. "Use a USB 2 for faster results."

Can anyone help please?

If you only bought the machine this year, I would expect all the ports to be USB2. Occasionally I get the same message on my XP machine - even though I know that the ports are USB2. If it happens only occasionally, I would just assume that the OS is talking out of its back passage.
I'd have thought the manual that came with the PC would tell you.

I have a feeling that if a PC provides both, the sockets at the back are most likely to be version 2, but I can't guarantee that.
No new computer would have had USB1 for about 5+ years.
