Now I'm Quite Good With Computers.. BUT

I am sitting here with an evil looking box which contains the hard drive from my old damaged computer, feeling quite nervous
I have a usb cable that has 3 ends - why?
I really only want my photos and videos of my little granddaughter. Will it, when I connect it allow me to cherrypick what I want or is it just going to go blleeuurr, there you go!!!
Any info would be gratefully received. Cheers.

The small end fits into the hard drive....

The big connector with two wires coming out of it is the the one you want...

The other big connector with one wire coming out of it (that leads to the big one with two wires) is just for extra power if you use it with an old computer, you can probably ignore that one.

and, yes, you can pick anything you want to copy to or from the external drive.
