Outlook Express

I installed Malwarebytes because I had a pop up from zone alarm which I was a bit unhappy about. I had done a full scan previously with my free AVG anti virus, which found nothing, but Malaware found 57 items of malicious software! Since then my pc is running a bit slow, and outlook express is working differently. I now have a new layout with it, it only has File, Edit etc. no create mail or send + an O.E.(2) has appeared as a shortcut on my desktop but still with the new layout. Do you think these actions are connected with malware or just a coincidence? Hope someone can help me to get my old layout back. TIA rosy

Go to View > Layout.
Click to put the missing tick back alongside 'Toolbar'.
Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.
Right-click on the unnecessary desktop icon and select 'Delete'.
