Adding Some more Ram Memory
4 Answers
Just Bought a Second Pc and want to increase its Ram,
I have to slots, with a maximum capacity of 2Gb
Can I put different amounts of ram memory in the different slots?
ie: 1st slot 1gb
2nd slot 256mb
or do they have to be of equal amounts?
Was just going to buy and extra 1gb but as it already as a 256mb in there was going to leave it in!
Thanks in advance

You can usually mix memory of different sizes, however memory from different companies (or of different speeds) can conflict with each other.
Try putting in the NEW memory first (and take out the old memory) and check it works.
If it does, then put the OLD memory back in (leaving the new memory in) and check it also works.
If it does, fine, if not take out the old memory and just go with the new memory.
