Just a quickie - I am running XP on both my PC and the wife's lappy on a home network. Can I assume that if I want to upgrade to Windows 7, I will have to upgrade both the PC and the lappy ?
TIA

One proviso, which I'm sure Chuck will explain better than I can!

Remote desktop is only included in the Professional, Business, or Ultimate versions of Windows 7 not the Home editions.
that's the same for XP and vista too.
Actually the one thing that causes an problem for a lot of people is MS changing the default name of the workgroup from workgroup (XP) to MShome (win7) but all that needs to be done is change one or the other so they both match.
