There used to be a maggot factory fairly near me, that was baaaaaad. Oh and a papermill, and oddly enough that bloody hums some days too, not entirely sure why.

when i worked at cats protection, some of the cats were very ill, they had sick and poo everywhere. that was pretty rank. also, my boyfriends farts, smells like someone or something has crawled up his bum and died horrifically

Easy....the extraction of a tampon that has been left in situ and forgotten forgotten, for perhaps 6 months.

You will never forget that smell.

There used to be a boneyard on the banks of the Tyne where animal carcases were rendered down for glue. That was evil.

the guts from a slightly over hung pheasant take some beating, with rotting shrimps a close second, 3 day old cod guts are best avoided too. I could go on as the memories flood back but have to go to lunch.. byeeee.

The one that stays with me was the smell of grossly overweight person with personal hygiene issues who was in the supermarket. The smell hit you even before you turned into their isle.

McM....LOL....these fat women have huge sweaty pendulous tits and to make them acceptable to the Dr. they would lift them up and throw talcum powder all over them. After listening to their hearts, one retrieved the head of the stethoscope and it was caked in gooo!..........terrible, like putty.

Barmaid, we went past a beet factory on our way up North not long ago, and I agree the smell is diabolical (but not nearly as bad as rotting rat)

Actually, the WORST smell I have ever come across is the smell of death. When I used to administer estates I would very often have to go out to a property where the deceased had lain dead for several weeks. Now that does turn you over.

Sqad......your post reminds me of a GP friend who used to tend to the medical needs of the nuns at a local convent. He told marvelous tales of listening to their hearts through the "golden diamond". Out of modesty they would undo just one button and pull just enough of the top apart for him to insert the stethoscope. If they were suffering any female problems they used the most unlikely euphemisms to describe the location or symptom.
