Packard Bell?
5 Answers
After finally deciding (I think) not to go for an iPad but a laptop I have narrowed it down to 3 I like, 2 of which are Packard Bells. Both are below £400 which is my ideal price bracket though I can go to £450. My q is how reliable are Packard Bells and are they user friendly? Pending which mag you read gives differing answers. Any views from AB world? Thanks

For a while Packard Bell were an independant company and where known for making cheap poor computers and got a bad reputation, often sold through places like PC World.
In 2008 they were bought by Acer so my guess is that they are gradually losing that reputation, and in fact I have seen quite a few good looking laptops from them recently.
However reputations are hard to lose and personally I would not buy a Packard Bell and would rather go for a Toshiba, HP etc.
