I'm trying to send a website address on a email to a friend. when I type in the web address it turns blue (as usual) but is underlined as well and when I try and click on it to test it, nothing happens. Any thoughts please? thank you

If I am doing this I normally ensure there is a space between the last letter of the message and the webaddress, and the last of the webaddress and restart of the message. Also it is quite normal that the link will not become live in the e-mail you are sending, but will be once it appears in your sent box.
However I also normally copy/paste web links from the address bar in the browser you are using.

thank you for that DocHH - I'll do a test and send it to myself - I know the address is correct because it's my son's web site for his company and I use it all the time. Will also check on the spacings.

works perfectly DocHH - many thanks
Another thing to look at is the 'insert' put down menu or buttom to insert a hyperlink.
This gives a neater appearance as you can change the address to a shorter description, you usually need the http:// bit as well. like DocHH said copy & paste the address.

wow - just makes me realise how much I don't know- but thanks anyway!
You may need to hold ctrl and click the address to go to the link.
