The vast majority of mouse problems are usually solved by simply switching to a new mouse. If you've got a large Tesco store near to you, head there now ('cos they'll be open to 10pm tonight) or tomorrow. They'll sell you a wired optical mouse for £4.97.

thanks chris, i do have a large tesco about 3 miles away, but no buses running and me in pj*s.not a good idea.
