copped some viruses!!

got virus on pc so had to use my 2 restore discs to go back to scratch followed instructions and behold went smoothly,major problem is with my mcafee it will not download at all,been on to them and spoke to them no help at all keeps saying product needs updating but it wont?
taking a chance now using pc any ideas anyone ive tried the cd disc and downloading from the site but no good!
is it still ok to use my pc or not!

How do I banish TravelMole?

also keep getting pop up message about "host not working" dont know what that means??

If McAfee won't install then you need to have some sort of anti virus software (free AVG will do) and enable the windows firewall.

What a mess ..

You need to UN-install ALL Antivirus software, reboot .. Clean up thoroughly and install ONE. If McAfee is paid for .. fair enough. If not, just install Microsoft Security Essentials, and LEAVE it at that.
