I usually get 30 to 40 emails per day but today the only ones I have received are what I sent to myself. I suppose I could have assumed no-one wished to contact me today but I sent email from my wifes computer without success. Next I re-installed Internet Explorer 8 and checked my mail settings which were ok. I've exhausted my knowledge so now it's up to you guys to advise me please. Telboy

What did your mail provider's technical support people say when you contacted them...?
As Mark's post seems to indicate, the problem is more likely to be with your email provider than with your PC. (That, of course, assumes that you're not seeing any error messages when you click on 'Send/Receive').

In the meantime, nearly all email providers offer web-based access to your mail. Try logging in via the email link on your provider's web page. You'll then be able to see whether your incoming mail has actually been arriving on the provider's server.
