The attahment contains photos, or IS a photo?

If 'contains', what exactly id the file that you're trying to send. If it's an executable file, it may throw up a warning like the one you see.
Are the photos in a zip file and is this type of file attachment blocked in your Outlook settings?
In OE, make sure you uncheck 'do not allow ... ' in Tools/Options/Security ...
Zip up pics and send the zip.
Make sure below approx 10Mb total size, or it will be stripped at ISP.

The attachment I'm trying to send is a folder containg 13 photo's scanned into my computer via my printer/scanner from ordinary prints. They are in a JPEG form and the total file size is 6.44MB. I have not put them into a Zip file as being a wrinklie don't know how to. Thanks for the help so far.
Attach the photos individually, you won't be able to attatch a folder.
As NN indicates, you can't email a folder. If you want to bundle the files together you'll need to 'zip' them (i.e. compress them into a single file) and the recipient will then have the 'unzip' (decompress) that file. Since you don't want to do that you'll have to attach the pictures as separate files.

Sending them as single pictures will probably work but email servers each have a maximum total size for email attachments. Some allow you to attach up to 10Mb (or, occasionally, more) to a single email but others put their limit much lower (at 2Mb or 5Mb). So you might find that you'll need to spread your attachments across several emails.
