Perfectly normal. EpsoN proniters are designed to work with Epson cartridges.

Thanks for that! Anyway it got took back t tesco! Had a standing argument with the manageress who sold it me, with her giving it "if your printers chipped it wont work" Bit late for that love! You sold it me and it dont work!! It doesnt come with a warning, it is sold as a cartridge for that model keep it!! Anyway after making her neck go red I got mi brass back. Lesson learned. Cheers.
Thanks for that! Yea I wont let the buggers get me down I`m well versed in it. Given a well balanced argument over a period of 5/10 mins I can get a good cue gathering. Given the well balanced argument thing, “policy” then seems to be forgot and “well we`ll give you a credit note this once” patronizing sow!! I feel sorry for em really but even when I asked for the manager to come and have a go she said “ I am the manager” dear dear. Stands there arguing with a customer when over £6 with ten other customers waiting to be served.
I have just returned from Africa and honestly they wouldn’t stand that crap for one second. Customer is king over there and they have the money just remember that Tesco!! Every little helps MY ARSE!!

try using ssc utility, used it on my 870 photostylus to freeze the cartridge so its permanently full. also use similar software at work on epson 9000 series with no problems.

Why are you buying Epson compatible cartridges at Tesco – at around ½ the price of the genuine article.
I buy my compatible Epson compatible cartridges (high capacity – claimed to have double the normal ink) from ebay. Typically 3 sets, consisting of 12 individual chipped cartridges, cost less than £8 including p&p.

Occasionally I suffer my Epson printer telling me that it does not recognise the chipped compatible cartridges – normally after two or three attempts, the printer wakes up and prints the document. Once I have successfully printed a document, the printer will behave itself, at least until switched off.
