Windows 7 - Help please - new ex XP
8 Answers
Have just put all this on site, but lost it so here goes again. Can anyone assist.
1. I have been shown by this site in past how to import from my gmail address to Live Mail so I can read my emails without using webmail. I set all this up in gmail settings, but it then told me to configure Live Mail by going into tools-options etc BUT unlike my XP screen there is no heading where I can do this at top of screen! What am I doing wrong?
2. Have managed to transfer my 'favorites' and 'my docs' ok (although they now appear only as a list with no option to change to tiles or icons as in XP) , but cannot find how to transfer my 'address book'. It is so small I could just write again on my new laptop, but I cannot find how to put an 'Address Book' icon on my new desktop!
3. Finally, I went to install my printer using the disc provided by HP (it is only a few months old). but a message comes up saying it is not supported by Windows 7. Please help1

Click on Accounts, Click on Properties. You are now at the same screen taht you would have been on if you'd gone via the tools route in earlier versions.
2) In Windows 7, the address book is called Contacts. You will find it by clicking your username on the desktop. You can right-drag it to the desktop and choose Create Shortcut here.
3) You can get drivers from the HP site: http://h10025.www1.hp.../siteHome?cc=uk&lc=en

Dont try to install your printer from the disc go to the HP site run the hardware indentification module and it will indentify your printer and you select your OS and it will install it. If you wish you can download the drivers etc. and install it that way. I have experienced this same problem as you so I installed it the way i have described. My disc wouldn't work either.
