Vinyl to computer

Bit of a basic title really but here goes, I have a suitable turntable but i'm looking for a basic programme to allow the conversion. It doesnt have to be that fancy, faff free is the way i want to go. i have a great deal of vinyl that i no longer listen to and converting to a format that i can burn to a cd will 1 preserve it and 2 hopefully enable me to enjoy it again. Now all i need is 3 the time to do it... Any suggestions please?

Audacity is free. It's also the software supplied with most off-the-shelf solutions for transferring Vinyl or tape.
