Which email client do you use?
Not sure I understand, but I am with btinternet so it just pops in anyway via Yahoo! mail.
ah, web based ...
if you're connected to the internet, I can't understand why Yahoo mail won't work.
I'm guessing that you are using Outlook Express. If so:
Click Tools/Accounts
Click on the Mail tab
Click on your e-mail account, then click Properties
Click on the Connection tab
Uncheck the box "Always connect to this account using"
Click OK
Click Close
I don't understand much of this conversation but since you can get online, is it not possible to get on the website of your email carrier, then log on to email from there? You techie guys who know what you talking about forgive me if I'm talking nonsense. :-)

Will give that a go rojash, and yes I should have said I use Outlook Express :-)
Hi craft.....Hope you are getting accustomed to my Welsh accent.:-)

I had a similar problem when I connected the BT Hub, nearly two years back; so I telephoned the Broadband helpline and a pleasant Indian chappie helped me sort out things. In fact, because my computer doesn't have a landline telephone close at hand, the chappie concerned immediately telephoned back to my mobile.

rojash has probably given you the answer. However if you still have difficulties the following may be of assistance.

Best of luck.......Ron.
A download of the following could be useful for future reference; after you have everything up and running. :_
