Viewing attachments in OE

Morning all !, Some times when I receive an email with an attachment this shows at the bottom of the message without me opening the attachment. Is there a way to switch this off so that the attachment only displays when I click on it. I have the preview pane switched off. (OE on xp home )

I can't find anywhere in OE where you can change that - I'm guessing that it depends on the options chosen by the person who sent the e-mail.

Yes .. OE usually displays it (attachment) in the header panel.
