Have you tried a full download from Microsoft rather than restore ?

I have followed the links here but then when the download starts it comes up as this download is only sutable for XP, 2000 and yet I went fro the codec that said for

I think the version you need is Media Player 12. Will have a look to see if download is available free from Microsoft !

nope, looks as though I will have to do a system restore but W7 only takes it back to the last installation, which might have only been a couple of hrs ago

what an absolute rip off Microsoft Help is, because I am having problems with the above and have tried everything I can think of, they charge you for advice! or if you call them, it's a 0904 premium number
