I want to backup files in Windows XP and it says that if BACKUP does not appear in the ACCESSORIES menu (and it doesn't) I must install it with the Windows XP CD. I don't ever remember having such a CD.
I thought it must be easy to download the backup facility from the internet but I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help, please?

have you looked in system tools in accessories
run a command prompt and type ntbackup
I use it to back up computers at work on weekly and daily basis.

It is only installed on XP Pro by default.

On XP Home it is NOT installed and you have to do a manual install to get it. No good if you have not got the CD (in this case)
I believe the actual file is called NTbackup.exe if you can find it on the web.

This web page seems to have it (at the bottom)

http://www.ntbackup.u...-ntbackup-xp-home.htm
Why not download and use GFI Backup it is free and is recommended by the Windows Magazine as a good alternative to the Windows one.
