I could copy and paste with IE but don't seem to be able to do this as I don't have a FF toolbar, just a tab...also no back button, do I have to download a tool bar?

Just copy the link and paste, im using ff, I do it exactly the same way.

Am I misunderstanding the question?
Right click where the bar used to be and make sure a tick is next to navigation bar.
You don't need a back button, just open youtube, copy the link close you tube again etc
