Paypal/Skype e-mail received. Is this a scam?

I have just received an e-mail from d@email0.pcom.com saying "this is a receipt for your payment (£18) for an on line number subscription for 3 months".
I do have a Skpe number but only use the free service and did not ask for a subscription. I do have a Paypal a/c but only use for e-bay.
There is a note on the e-mail that says "cancel payment". So far nothing has been taken from my Paypal a/c. I am reluctant to reply or click on any commands on the e-mail for obvious reasons but wonder if anyone has received a similar e-mail.

if there are no pending transactions in yr PP a/c then you can say it is a phishing email
Delete it and worry no more
why have you posted this in more than one location?
If you hover over the link it may show the true address of the link
I have one as well it is a scam !
If you lokk at it ,It gives you an option 'cancel payment' if you click on it it gives you a form to fill in with all your bank card details . I have forwarded mine to spoof@paypal.com
Bit of a worry as it got through my junk mail filter and is exacty like a real paypal message. But if you go to your real paypal account there is nothing about it . It is a scam to get bank detailsand clean out your account , be warned ! I was just about to post a warning on here as well when I saw yours.
I just got the same email and don't have skype at all! Don't click on anything!
Just imagine some one is sitting there waiting on you or I making a mistake so as they can thieve from us .what sorta person does that ...How does a person like thats mind work ?

Will all of us who have got this please forward them to spoof@paypal.com
this is a major scam and once paypal know of it they can take action. Mine got through my spam filters and was very convincing I nearly fell for it . I will bet they have caught a lot of people who though they were just canceling an incorrect transaction.
I report loads of phishing emails, eddie51, to the reporting addresses lloyds, halifax, santander, paypal etc but I'm not sure it makes much difference as the emails keep coming. I suppose if a spoof site is closed down they can re-open within seconds.
To be fair to Paypal though, they do acknowledge my emails- no-one else does
Needawin's doing us all a favour by raising the subject. If it hadn't been on 'Most Recent' I'd have missed it, since I never otherwise look in 'Business and Finance'. I wouldn't really mind if it had been duplicate posted under every AB topic so as to make sure everyone was warned.
it seems like a scam, coz u haven't ordered any subscription or anything like that, and the email address also points towards that its a scam
Yes
Yes it’s a scam. Delete the email and laugh in a cavalier manner, safe in the knowledge that the £18 has not been taken from your account so there’s nothing to cancel. Also beware of emails that have the address paypaI.com (a capital I look’s like a lower case L on an email.)
