Since logging on today, about 30 minutes ago, the site keeps freezing and I've had to use 'recover page' about 4 times.
I'm using IE9 and it's only happening with this site............any ideas?

AB Towers servers are licenced for a set number of connections/sec, and when the number of user conections attempting to connect to AB at the same time is greater than the license conditions, then the server will start to queue the connecton requests until there is a space available to handle your PC's request to be served by this site. This will inevitably...

I've been having the same problem for days - very frustrating it is too.
I use IE9/BT and am experiencing no problems at all, probably tempted fate there.
I am using it now and it seems fine to me?

Do you always get a certain amount of "grace period" before it all goes wonky?

If you always get about 30 minutes or so it might be something to do with the averts - but I cannot be sure until I replicate it.
I experienced issues on a BT line over the weekend - but I wouldn't imagine that would only effect AB!

Unless they don't like us of course?

No there are no uniform gaps.................it can happen 30 minutes apart or literally every time I try to view another page.
BT + IE9 here, no problems, (so far)
Have you updated IE9 recently? I have a few windows updates coming through on the test machine, so this may be related.
Question Author
Would they be included in the updates which come through every bloody night when I log off?
Exactly the same for me IE9, BT. Last few days now.
There are no setgaps for me either, sometimes is stops working as soon as I log in, and then it might take a bit longer. I have no issues with updates.
Hi craft.... I would not dispute that IE is the most widely used Browser. Possible because most computers are bought with Windows installed and IE is part of the package.

However, IE is now ranked as third on the list of 'Best Browsers'.

lol Ron considering your recent problems with browsers I'll stick with IE9......actually the problem seems to have cleared now.
Thanks craft for bringing this to Ed's attention. It has been really bad for me, especially the last 2 weekends - I have recovered page countless times and I mean countless. I'm on IE9 too. It's only this site but freezes up all of my open tabs.

It's been doing it to me for a few days, normally just as I am about to submit a post. It freezes and I have to recover and everything I have typed has dissapeared and it's damn annoying. You may or may not get to see this post.
When I had this, I ran Task Manager and IE was occupying 98% of my CPU, even with only AB open. The only way I could get rid was to end the process from within TM. I tried my laptop - same thing. Something massive was going on within AB that caused both my machines to freeze. That was Friday to Sunday. It's not happening today, has anything changed? Advert removed? Picture of the Queen changed to that of a footballer top left? Just suggestions.
Check your browser settings, i.e make sure they're set to medium-high and your pop-up blocker has answerbank.co.uk set to always allow, as the adverts on Ab seem to time out whilst being checked against your default browser settings on your PC

Hope this helps - I reset last week & NO problems since on any site including this. ☺
Craft I've been blaming IE9 for my screen freezing, not sure what the problem is but it happens more now since I uploaded IE9 (by mistake).
Question Author
The problem does seem (fingers crossed) to have gone away now..............
Purely out of statistical interest; IE is the most popular Browser with ABers...although I prefer Firefox. Figures released by the Ed in May of this year were as follows:-

IE: 36%
Safari: 23%
Chrome: 15%
FF: 14%
Android Browser: 5%

Ron.
Yes it seems better now, I hope it lasts.
