Another site which shall remain nameless has started to require new users to pay 1p with a credit/debit card in order to have their real names and addresses just in case they are thinking of trollery.

Are there any other non-shopping sites which require this? Would it be a good idea if this site introduced this requirement too?

I would have no problem with providing my personal (credit) details to AB NOW, but I certainly wouldn't even entertain the idea on a site that I don't know yet.
I just thought (yes, it does happen)... if AB charged 5p for every answer or question and returned the funds at Xmas to bona fide members, it would stop the spammers and trolls and we would have a small bonus. It might also cut own on some of the mindless prattle that goes on.
