loss of homepage

hi all, recently had computer back from repair shop and have reinstalled AOL. every time i click to read an item on the homepage and then close it down the whole homepage dissappears and needs reloading before looking at another item.. please can anyone solve this problem? (i'm using aol 9.7)

It sounds like the item is opening in the same window/tab as the AoL homepage rather than a new/separate one.

Either change your browser settings so that "links open in new tab" or use the 'back' button (top left of screen) to get back to the AoL homepage rather than clicking on the cross at the top right to close the link.

We can give more precise help if you tell us which internet browser you are using.
Oops - had forgotten that AoL 9.7 actually is a browser not just a homepage.

There must be a setting somewhere to "open web page in new window".

thank for help sunny-dave.... cant find anywhere to open new window so i'll just put up with it.
