For my Internet PC to TV connection I am using VGA.The sound is already separate through the HI-FI. It would be more convenient to use instead the S.Video ones. Would the definition be any different? I dont want to buy a cable if it is a waste of time. Thanks, Al.
VGA to VGA is better by a long way. The s-video connection is bandwidth limited to max 12MHz on Luma and 7Mhz on the chroma signals whereas VGA will be min 35MHz bandwidth if only 640x480 resolution, more if higher res. It's a true RGB signal, not a poor combined compromise like s-video.
