Ipad And Laptop

I have a complete mystery and I'm hoping somebody can help me PLEASE. I can email from my laptop but not from my iPad.

From my ipad, I can post in things like AB, and I can sell on eBay but I can't email. I can't think what it is, because I don't know ANYTHING about computers or their set up. I THINK the problem occurred when OH changed his password for iTunes, but I can't swear to that; ts possibly a coincidence! Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Have you got an email account linked to the iPad? When you click the mail icon what happens?

Have you synchronised your email address with the one available on the iPad? Or are you going through a browser to do emails, like safari?

RR when I click the mail icon, the mailboxes come up on the left hand side. If I write an email and send it, the little "round and round thing" just keeps gong round and fund and eventually comes up with a message, which unfortunately ask can't remember. I'll write a message now and come back and tell you what the message says.

Dunnitall, I thought it WAS synchronised, but who knows? I'll try and find out. I don't think I go through a browser, I just press the mail icon.

Interestingly, I can use the "messages" icon ( the green speech bubble one ok).

Yes you would be able to use the message one, the email has to be set up to your main email you use for it to be enabled on here. Try using safari which is the browser on here and go to your email on that, you will be able to write one from there.

Not to confuse you when I say " browser on here" I mean on the iPad sorry.

Dunnitall, just pressed the safari button and AB came up again! Where would the email be?

I'd be inclined to go into setting an delete the account and then add it back in, don't know if that will work though.

When you go into safari, go to www.whateveryoudoonalaptop.com to login to your emails (possible bt.yahoo.com/webmail). I have a gmail account so through the browser I just type gmail login and select it and put my details in. See if you can send anything through that.

horseshoes you have to open a new tab in safari and if you haven't got your email address saved on to your favorites bar then google is (email server whatever it is...googlemail, yahoo, Hotmail et al) go to it's sign in page and sign in just as you would on your laptop or PC. That's how to get to send receive or compose emails on your laptop THROUGH the browser. If you want it to come straight through to your ipad on the app there where you have been trying to send one from, then you have to sync your email address to that app. If you haven't already downloaded and saved the iPad user guide, may I suggest you do that it is SO helpful (its a pdf file) and you will get it from Apple site under iPad "stuff". Hope that helps you.

* corrections google your email server which ever one it is and then when you get to the sign in page, that is how you can do your emails from you iPad through the browser.

1)Click on the settings icon
2) On the left hand side click on mail, contacts, calender.
3) on the right hand side of this page at the top under Accounts is your e mail account showing ? If so check that all the information has been entered correctly.

Hopefully this should solve the problem. If, not delete the information that has been entered and set it up again.

When setting up only fill in the folowing info :-
Under POP account just fill in your Name and email address
Under incoming mail server fill in user name and password, this should be enough info then press the "done" button amd hopefully all will be good.
