Netgear Powerline Av500 Not Working

I have had a Netgear Powerline AV500 fitted in my house and one of the 2 adapters has stopped working. The middle light is not lit. I have found a manual online which says that the light being off means that "The adapter has not found any other compatible Powerline devices using the same encryption key, or has been turned off through the Powerline utility."

It was an IT person who installed it and I know close to nothing about how computers/wifi etc works. But if there was anything simple that I could try to get it working I would appreciate any advice.

What I have done so far is turn both the adapters off and on again. And I have tried plugging in the unlit adapter nearer the other one but the middle light still doesn't go on. I will contact the IT person on Monday but is there anything I could try tonight?
