Laptop Using Internet Very Slow/timing Out
12 Answers
Just recently when going online my Laptop has become so slow, often timing out rather than finding the chosen website. I am not very techie so don't know where to start but I've done a full scan using Kaspersky which I thought might help but no joy. Can anyone suggest what might be making it so slow all of a sudden. There is very little stored on it if that mkes any difference. It's as if I have inadvertently got something saved on my PC which has caused it run like treacle. The last thing I recall doing was adding FilmFanatic Toolbat which was by mistake really and I'd like to get rid of that. All help appreciated.

There would be a cost of xx pounds to do this. I wasn't sure if this was safe so I chose not to proceed! Alas as well as having FF I now find I also have Spyhunter 4 install which by going through the normal process using Control Panel/uninstall will not budge! I get so far and then it diverts me to subsribe to something! I hate computers!! It has taken ages just to type this message, simply because FF has slowed my PC down to a trickle. I now have to hope a local techie can remove both FF and Spyhunnter for me. I wwould much rather pay someone locally than subscribe to something that might make things even worse
Try removing RegCurePro and Spyhunter by starting your pc in 'safe mode' and then Use/Remove programs in Control Panel.
To get rid off FilmFanatic Toolbar follow these instructions

Malwaretips is very good advice but sometimes it is overkill. From their instructions I'd do Sections 1,2 and 4 and then re-start your pc into 'safe mode' and do another scan with Malwarebytes (free version) and then re-start as normal as normal.
Usually that should fix it.
Malwarebytes free, available here, just scroll down and click on the 'greyed' out Download button and opt out of the trial version.

I know some people have different ideas to me, but I would be wary of any Registry Editors (free or otherwise). Registry Editors can fatally compromise your pc if they get it wrong.
