For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you've got an automatic spell-checking function when you post on here, it's generated by your web browser. Similarly, if you access your email through your browser (rather than through a dedicated email client, such as Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird) it will again be your browser that provides the spell-checker.
So the obvious question has to be 'Which browser are you using?'
(Once we know that, we'll hopefully be able to tell you how to enable spell-checking within it again).

This is for Firefox ('cos that's what I use and know about!):
Click the 'hamburger' icon (three horizontal icons) at the top right of your window.
Click' Options'.
Click 'Advanced'
Ensure that there's a tick alongside 'Check my spelling as I type'.
Close that tab.
Click the hamburger icon again and select Add-Ons.
Click on Dictionaries.
You should have 'British English Dictionary (Updated)', or something similar shown there. If not, type 'British dictionary' in the search box at the top right and hit Enter. When you see the relevant result, click on Install.
Close the tab.
Go to a random AB question and type some rubbish (such as 'ghyxq') in a reply box, followed by a space. (Obviously don't click 'Submit'!). Your unrecognised word should now be underlined in red.
