First step is always backup you pictures, documents, videos, bookmarks / favourites. Make sure you know all your logins/passwords.

then click on the Win10 logo bottom right of your screen - if it says click to download do so if you are ready - if it says Thank you for reserving etc go to windows update and keep clicking that till all the non Win 10 updates have run out. Check the update history to see if there are any failed Win 10 installations. If there are read my post "Having Problems Installing Win 10 - Read On" about 8 hours ago

I wouldn't be in any hurry to upgrade to Windows 10 at this time it has lots of issues that will need to be fixed wait a few months until they sort it out then consider if you want to upgrade
