Unable to get onto many Websites today. Okay with gmail and talktalk mail and ebay plus several others. Unable to get into the Post Office site to price some sending of parcels or even Microsoft Help site.
Diagnostics did not throw up anything wrong with the LAN or Wi-Fi connection.
Anybody else having problems?

Have you looked at your ISP webpage to see if there are any issues their end?
I've got no problems here.

Try changing your browser or your DNS:
https://store.opendns.com/setup/#/

If the Post Office website isn't responding properly, try the Royal Mail one instead:
http://www.royalmail.com/

For an excellent parcels service (which is usually significantly cheaper than Royal Mail or ParcelForce) try Collect+

Thanks hc4361, but my email is fine and talktalk is not reporting any problems at my exchange etc. Their webpage is fine.
Thanks also Buenchico, but Collect+ here has a maximum parcel size of 90cm and the ones I send are usually between 120 and 150cm. So Parcelforce 48 is the most convenient option for me.
In addition to my initial post, although EBay is fine, I can't get into my PayPal account. Curious and a nuisance!
Question Author
Well I seem to have fixed it.
1. Opened Command prompt as Administrator. (Pressed Enter)
2. Typed CD/ (Pressed Enter)
3. Typed ipconfig /flushdns (Pressed Enter)
4. Typed ipconfig /renew (Pressed Enter)
5. Typed exit (Pressed Enter)
Crossed fingers and everything else. I just wish knew what I was doing!
>>>I just wish knew what I was doing!

But that takes all the fun out of it!

Buenchico, while I was having the problems yesterday, I couldn't get into the 'store.opendns' site, nor the 'Royal Mail' site, but I could get into the Collect+ site. Also managed to get into two forums with my question and they both included several suggestions AND the solution I ended up enacting. My concern is why did it happen in the first place?
Anyway, thanks for your suggestions.
if you feel like being adventurous then you could try DNSJumper http://www.sordum.org/7952/dns-jumper-v2-0/ which, apart from having a Flush DNS button, will find the fastest DNS connection for you

Thank you bibblebub, details duly noted for future reference.
I've been around the world several times and being adventurous, is not top of my agenda at present, though I'm not averse to something a little risky on the odd occasion!
Best wishes.

Thank you Methyl. I think that's exactly what's been happening, as we have a friend from Argentina staying with us. He is always on his tablet using my WiFi connection. At least I now know what do if it happens again.
