I have just tried to access the website of Rizla, who manufacture cigarette papers, to tell them about a flaw in their production. It flashed up on my screen, "Access denied for the user's country." I wonder where on earth they are based. Anyone know of any country operating internet sanctions against the UK?

Now that is weird, because it won't allow me access.
Seeing as they must have been making billions of papers for 'millions' of years, I'd be surprised if you really found a 'flaw in their production', umbrella boy.
Tell me/us what it is so I/we can judge its validity. ;o)
i'm on firefox 40.0.3 using dns 208. 67 .222 .222
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

The flaw I have found is that about 5 papers down in the packet the next one is upside down, so when it is removed the leaf of the following one does not come out of the packet, meaning that I have to tear it open and carefully pick them out one by one. I'll try again using Firefox.
Is that in every packet? If it is, there must be a valid reason for it, doncha think?
Question Author
Yes, in every packet so far. By the way, I'm talking about the liquorice ones. I can't see what the reason could be, causing people to have to tear the packet to access the rest. I prefer those made by Swan, who don't have this problem, but there are no stockists near me. It's not a big deal in the scheme of things, just annoying. By the way, I liked the 'umbrella boy' bit. You've obviously read one of my previous posts.
"Access denied for the user's country."
I get the same!
I use 'tubes', if you know what I mean. But I was looking for an opportunity to use 'umbrella boy', lol.

Just tried using Firefox, same result.

This has got me baffled. How can ivor access the site while TheChair and I cannot? There must be some explanation. Perhaps Chico might know, if he pops in later.

Just clicked on your link, Wolf, and same result - Access denied.
Some kind of child lock that stops children accessing tobacco/ tobacco products? (amongst other things)
A default blocker you have to disable?
Question Author
If that's the case I'll need Chico's help. Funny that I can access other dodgy sites no problem (purely by accident, of course).
For info, the web addresses www.rizla.com and www.rizla.co.uk (assume that you tested both) appear to be protected via a secure Internet Proxy Service provided by a web company named Incapsula (www.incapsula.com).

If of interest, you can find this information out by initially performing an on-line Name Server lookup to determine the actual Internet address (IP number) of rizla.com or rizla.co.uk
e.g. goto http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php then in the 'Domain' window enter rizla.com (or rizla.co.uk).

Note the IP address number returned (149.126.74.106) then in your Browser address bar enter that IP address. It will respond with a 'Proxy failed to resolve name' message and on that page you will see the provider as 'Incapsula'

Not sure, but it is possible that the ISP internet domain that you are using has been banned at some previous point from access to the Incapsula / Rizla web services e.g.due to recent or previous Network Denial of Services attacks emminating from your ISP network domain provider etc, or it could be just be an incorrect security check error on their part!

If that is the case there may be a denial timeout period running which may 'release' a ban at some point in the near future, but more likely to be on a permanent banned list!.

Alternatively you could try ringing, I believe the rizla.co.uk telephone number is 0115 924 2888.

Thank you, Pinky, for your help, but the matter is so trivial to pursue any further. It was just the fact of being denied access because of my country's origin (UK) also that someone else managed to access it. I did wonder if it had something to do with where my PC was manufactured (HP Pavilion). Perhaps I shall never know.

Seeing as you're up and about Chico, can you shed any light on this?
