I am unable to connect to the internet on my WINDOWS XP PC. To connect I use a Belkin 54g wireless USB Network adapter. The green light on the adapter is pulsing & I have tried removing and reinserting.
When I view network conn list mine says Automatic with a yellow star and quite a few green lines. If I click on it & select connect & then enter the router password it says acquiring network address & then changes back to Automatic.
I
If I right click & select Repair it says disabling adapter then connecting to wireless network then renewing your IP address. It then says Windows could not finish repairing the problem because action Renewing your IP address cannot be completed. Contact the person managing your network.

I am writing this on my tablet and it uses the same router so I really don't understand.
Sorry this is so long winded hope you can help.

I just turned the PC off and on and got the point where it asks for the router password and this time I ignored the comment that the CAPS lock was on and input the password in capitals. I pressed connect and it did it. It seems to be a combination of release renew and password in capitals. Thank you so much for all your help.
